| Description | Quaker preachers were active in Chester in the 1650s, when they suffered persecution by the city authorities, and there are references to Quaker conventicles in quarter sessions records of the late seventeenth century. Chester Meeting (CR 235) The original Friends' meeting house in Frodsham Street is believed to have been built in 1702. The present meeting house in Frodsham Street opened in 1975.
